Zero-G's MONSTER BEATS is a double CD set (audio plus WAV CD-ROM) loaded with over 75 minutes of in-your-face Rock, Funk, Fusion and Alternative grooves ranging from 60 to 203 bpm. Recorded and mixed with state of the art recording technology at a number of London's top studios, Monster Beats showcases the talents of an acclaimed session drummer and recording engineer at the top of their game. The key word is usability: The drums are played with attitude but never over-played as on some drum CD's, hence Monster Beats has a usability that no other loop based CD can beat. With extreme re-mix variations of EACH groove utilising some of the most sought after outboard FX and eq plus custom analogue modular synthesizers. As well as complete drum performances, precisely timed Wav files are included ensuring each and every beat can be looped at any point with exact accuracy!

MONSTER BEATS is produced by Chris Whitten and Peter Henderson. Whitten made a name for himself providing drums for the classic hits 'What I Am' by Edie Brikell and 'The Whole Of The Moon' by The Waterboys. He cemented his place as one of the Worlds top drummers on Paul McCartney's return to form album 'Flowers In The Dirt' and record breaking 1990 World tour. He's also performed alongside such varied artists as Dire Straits, Tom Jones, Johnny Cash and Julian Cope. Grammy winning producer / engineer Peter Henderson cut his teeth at London's Air Studios, working alongside the legendary Beatles production team of George Martin and Geoff Emerick, and has worked in studios all over the world.

The performances were recorded at a wide range of top London Studios, including AIR Studio One (Custom Neve), Terry Tunes (ex Rolling Stones EMI desk) and Chiswick Reach (Custom Valve Desk) etc. The sessions utilised a variety of vintage microphones and compressors and a wide selection of drum kits to offer an enormous diversity of drum sounds. To give the original recordings added value a 'remix' approach was used. The result is that each loop comes supplied with more than one EQ treatment plus often dry/ambient and ultra processed versions. The treatments incorporate use of an extensive modular synthesizer collection including ARP, EMS, Fenix, Polyfusion and Serge.

This library features 89 live drum kit performances based on Chris' favourite tracks, from rock to fusion with a large dose of alternative grooves. Monster Beats features natural born grooves, played with a real human feel serving up clean, gritty and raw beats, including sections without kick drum, solo hi hat and more drum fills than have ever been available before.
