MIDI Classics FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
|
|
Do you have online ordering?
Yes. you can now place
orders online, protected by SSL 128 bit encryption.
We now provide a shopping cart and improved
Search
at our online store.
You can also set up a customer
online account to speed repeat orders. We still provide
real human service, and will be happy to quote large quantity discounts and
special freight arrangements via phone, fax or email.
What is the price??
You can find the price by putting an item in the shopping cart.
If the manufacturer has a Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policy, we can not
advertise below MAP price, but we often sell for less, especially for more
expensive items. Just call or email and ask.
Is there any difference between Educational/Theological version and Full
Retail Software?
No. Only the license differs. Software publishers often give
special reduced pricing to acaademic users, institutions, and theological users.
Is this the latest version, and is it complete?
Yes. We stock only the fastest moving products and drop ship
directly from the manufacturers and distributors. Products are factory fresh,
and include any bundled components.
We can NOT generally supply old versions of software.
If you need some specific version that is not currently shipping, try
elsewhere.
How much is shipping?
Shipping varies depending on destination, carrier, size and weight. We usually
charge a flat rate for domestic ground software shipments. Extra charges apply
for Saturday delivery. We will gladly quote shipping charges.
Do you ship to my county?
Yes. We have shipped order to over 65 countries all over the
world, and will ship anywhere the US Government allows us.
So, unless you are in Cuba or a few other countries, we will ship to you.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes. We take all major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover
and American Express.
Our credit card processor is not letting us take
credit card transactions from a few countries. As an alternative, we accept
PayPal, wire transfers, Western Union and checks in US dollars drawn on a US bank.
Because of the high number of attempted fraudulent credit card use from
Nigeria and Indonesia, we must ask for payment from there to be by
wire transfer or other certified funds transfer.
Do you take PayPal?
Yes. Send PayPal payments to mcsales@midi-classics.com.
Is this a MIDI version?
Many people assume we only sell MIDI files. We also sell books, videos,
DVDs, etc. Not every piece of music has been published in a MIDI version.
Every one of our product pages has an entry for product TYPE. Products of
type SEQ are sequences. If TYPE is not SEQ or BKSEQ or SEQ+, it is not
a sequence.
Yamaha publishes a large library of disks for their digital pianos in a
proprietary format that can be read and converted to Standard MIDI
files by the Giebler DOM package.
Do you sell used equipment?
No. We speciallze in new equipment and don't take trade-ins.
Sometimes we will sell manufacturer's "B" stock, (returned items or floor stock)
These sell for even less than new stock, and carry a full warranty.
What is a MAP?
MAP stands for "Minimum Advertised Price." Some manufacturers
require us to either advertise this or a higher price, or leave it blank. If a
MAP is in effect, we still can sell for less.
Some have complained that we are not "upfront" with our prices. MAP is not
our policy, but we have to go along with it.
Where is Weatogue?
Weatogue, which means "Home Place" in the local Native American dialect, is a
small neighborhood in the town of Simsbury, Connecticut, northwest of Hartford.
It has its own separate zip code.
While not exactly a hub in the music business, a mail order company based here
has this advantage: we don't have to charge sales tax to most of our customers.
