But what connects a west coast rock legend with a quiet, scenic small town which is home to Avalon Guitars?

Carl explains: "For several years I've been touring in Ireland with my band each summer and also doing workshops with young people and supporting the work of integrated education which has been accelerated as a result of the Irish peace process. On one visit, I borrowed an Avalon and was immediately intrigued so during the 2004 tour I decided to check them out for myself and paid a visit to the Avalon workshops in County Down. The first guitar I played - an Avalon Legacy D32, was astounding as was the next one, then the next - they were all amazing."

We could see that Carl was impressed with AVALON so we suggested developing with him a guitar that would fulfil all the requirements of a rock performer’s stage acoustic and we're delighted with the result.
