This is like having 6 drives in 1.
DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, and CD-ROM all in one unit. To start with the DVD Revo writes DVDs at 2X which is the equivalent of recording CDs at 16X (1X DVD write = 8X CD write). It takes just over 30 minutes to write a full 4.7GB DVD. The CD-R/RW part writes at 8X and rewrites at 4X. So a standard 74 minute CD will take about 10 minutes to record.
Included is Roxio's Toast 5 Titanium, the leading CD/DVD burning software - a $99 value. Also, a firewire cable and a blank DVD-R disk. Store 4.7GB of data or multimedia The size of a CD-ROM and the storage capacity of 7 CD-R discs, DVD-RW is a great medium for data storage. Keep a back-up of your important content or data without taking up much drawer space. Tapes take too long to recover and have short life spans and CDs just don't hold enough. DVD is the backup medium for today.
