| Tube Zipper - LESS |
The Tube Zipper is two effects in one, a warm sounding Tube Envelope Follower and a rich tube Distortion unit. When these two effects are combined into the same circuit the outcome are entirely unique new wild effects. The Tube Zipper uses two premium 12AX7EH vacuum tubes. Press Release August 2001Finally, after three years of joint development by Dutch undergound vacuum tube legend Ton Barmentloo and Electro-Harmonix' Mike Matthews along with the entire EH staff of engineers, Electro-Harmonix announces the immediate availability of the TUBE ZIPPER.According to Matthews, "the TUBE ZIPPER is the greatest product we've introduced in over 20 years. Just picture your guitar signal massaged by a complex set of filters moving through a tube maze." Energized by two selected 12AX7EH tubes, controlled analogue harmonics are tastefully added and then digested by a patented moving filter gang. In keeping with the EH tradition, every control can be set over the edge, generating a host of novel tones with actance preserved. Add some Tron or Trill a la mode! True bypass.
"I love the Tube Zipper. It's the most flexible little box yet. I've been working
with it every morning. The problem is I can't decide on a single setting,
but for the tour I'll use it mainly as a distortion device. I love the sensitivity of
the settings, one little tweak changes everything."
"This is one of the coolest pedals I've heard ever. It has some completely new
and original sounds with the combination of the envelope filter. The oscillations are
cool when you put them right on the edge where your guitar playing triggers them.
The Trill sound is like no other sound I've heard... I'm looking for cool, new sounds
to use on Sheryl's record. I'll take it out when I get with her next week."
