dCS 954 Digital to Analog

954 DAC A high performance digital to analogue converter. It covers all current AES/EBU formats and "24/96" formats as well as providing 24 bit resolution at 192kS/s and a DSD (Direct Stream Digital) input. The dCS 952 and dCS 954 are reference quality digital to analogue converters offering full 24 bit capability in all the standard sample rates from 32kS/s to 192kS/s. Sony DSD compatibility is also provided with the dCS 954. All three units share a common hardware platform based heavily on FPGAs which facilitates easy model upgrades and performance enhancements. dCS's D/A converters use a patented multibit oversampling architecture that achieves indescribably low Differential Non Linearity. Consequently, the sound quality has a naturalness and transparency previously only associated with the best analogue tape recordings. Gain ranging is not used.
