Percussionworks was originally conceived as being the musician/producer's WORKHORSE for percussion sounds. It was recorded and arranged with only this purpose in mind.The amazing talent chosen for this library provided the kind of diverse content that was needed to make this WORKHORSE a reality. I mean, making great samples is all about capturing the "musician". You know, capturing their vibe. Each artist has brought a certain style and feel to this record and it is all seven of these New York Pro's that makes Percworks such a dynamic collection.
These are the "nuts and bolts" of what is needed to make great music. In one word - PRACTICALITY. Lots of Instruments, lots of Grooves. I asked everyone to help paint "The Big Picture" and we did it. We recorded in a digital format with lots of care taken to really "get that sound". The results of these efforts has made Percussionworks a big reality.
I would also like to take a minute to mention that NYC DRUMWORKS (the five-star best-selling sample library, also from SAMPLEHEADS) is the companion product to Percworks and the same spirit that went into this record is found there. Most of the material recorded in Percworks was done with Drumworks in mind to make ALL of these samples work together via tempos and styles. We even threw up some Drumworks loops and caught some hip grooves. It was alladda fun. I know you will enjoy it too. Just remember it's all about "the music".
