to everyone. However, you need the knowledge of a professional engineer to
use it!
THE BASICS OF DIGITAL HOME RECORDING series is taught by
Dave Banta, who is considered an expert in this field. This Series is based
on Dave’s classes taught at UCLA Extension. Not only has he recorded and
mixed Top Ten singles for major labels in his modest home studio, but he
has also produced soundtracks for feature films and network television
shows - including the WB’s prime time network show “Jack and Jill”.
Volume I: BEGINNING DIGITAL - HOW IT WORKS gives a
complete explanation of how digital works with the different systems; how
computers work; hardware requirements. This is the foundation you will
need to build on.
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Dave "Rainman” Banta. multi—platinum and Grammy Award
winning engineer, has worked on recordings with Coolio, Tracie Spencer. The
Roofs, M. C. Ren, Tupac, Sting, Lina Santiago, Take That, Marky Mark, Barrio,
Boyzz, Luther Vandross, Tina Turner, and Bette Midler. He engineered music
on Ace Ventura-Nature Calls, Poetic Justice. Dangerous Minds, Phat Beach,
Body Double. and projects for HBO, MGM and FOX. He earned a B.S. in
Music Education at The King’s College. B.A. in Music Business at Jersey
City College. and completed the electronic technician course at American
Technical Institute. Rainman is also a studio musician who has played on
soundtracks for feature films and has many credits on major label albums.
