Future Beats

Not that we thought MIDI ever went away, but it's great to see the press and industry reaction to our latest MIDI Sample library, Future Beats.

"No digital audio 'stretching' protocol beats MIDI for loops you can edit, transpose, or have follow tempo changes," says top music technology pundit Craig Anderton in his EQ review of the collection this month.

And it's not just the press who is raving about it. Ableton selected a dozen loops from Future Beats as the only MIDI content to demonstrate the new MIDI capability of Live 4 on its install CD, and Cakewalk has added the complete product to its authorized list of content developed for Sonar 3's new MIDI Groove Clip format.

Put together by artist and DJ Majool, currently working in Buenos Aires, Future Beats comprises more than 500 shiny new MIDI beats and grooves from kick-ass drum loops, to acid basslines, to synth parts, and can be used in any application or instrument that can import .MID files, from Cakewalk, Logic, Cubase SX, and Ableton Live 4, to Acid, Pro Tools, Korg Triton, Yamaha Motif, and many others.
