FilterBank

FilterBank is high-end EQ/Filter Plug-In designed to emulate the sound of vintage and modern equalizers/filters.

FilterBank Introduction

FilterBank is not just another great sounding EQ - it's every EQ ever made in one plug-In. FilterBank achieves this lofty claim through its unique design philosophy: give the user maximum control. All critical equalizer and filter design parameters are totally user adjustable. FilterBank can emulate any EQ: tube driven or solid-state, vintage or modern, fat or thin. Or FilterBank can be used to create a distinct custom EQ.

FilterBank gives you the most power and flexibility to emulate any other EQ or create your own custom EQ. We give the maximum independent controls available to the user to define the EQ response curve.

Only FilterBank gives you independent control of Frequency, Gain, Peak, Slope, and Dip. No other EQ gives you so many controls and allows as much flexibility (largest range) of these controls. Peak, Slope, and Dip are 3 of the critical design parameters that define the response curves of shelving EQs. By adjusting these values, you can emulate the response curve of any shelving EQ ever made.

The FilterBank presets are inspired by EQs such as the Neve 1084tm*, Avalon 2055tm, GML 8200tm*, ManleyTM* and PultecTM*.

This one engineering tool can easily replace thousands of dollars of expensive and hard to find hardware.

FilterBank gives the user total control over all critical equalizer and filter design parameters:

  • High and Low Shelving EQ: Independent control of frequency, gain, peak, slope, and dip. Only FilterBank gives you independent control of Frequency, Gain, Peak, Slope, and Dip. No other EQ gives you so much control and flexibility of shelving equalization. Some of the low shelf equalization responses of FilterBank are shown on the right in red, while a typical single low shelf response of other equalizers is in blue.
  • Parametric EQ: Frequency control range that covers nearly the entire audible spectrum (20 - 21000 Hz). Four Q modes (see below) with Q values ranging from 0.2 (5 octaves wide) to 20.0 (less than one semitone). Gain is +12/-24 dB. Constant-Q technology closely models analog parametric responses.
  • Low and High Pass Filters: Adjustable slope and resonant peak greater than 24 dB.
  • Band Pass and Band Reject Filters: Frequency control range that covers nearly the entire audible spectrum (20 - 21000 Hz). The Q range is 0.2 - 12.0.

    FilterBank variable Q Modes

The example plot views are from the P2 Stereo configuration of FilterBank. The Yellow Line is a Gain of + 8.0 dB in the first bell and - 8.0 dB in the second with the widest Q setting. The White Line is a Gain of + 8.0 dB in the first bell and - 8.0 dB in the second with the tightest Q setting.

All these modes have a frequency control range that covers nearly the entire audible spectrum (20 - 21000 Hz), and Constant-Q technology that closely models analog parametric responses.

    Other FilterBank features include:

    • Double Precision Arithmetic: Keeps the noise floor at the -138 dB level one would expect from the 24-bit TDM bus.
    • Analog Saturation Modeling: Provided in each EQ/filter band to prevent digital clipping.

    Performance

Up to 54 EQ/filter bands per HD dsp. Up to 48 EQ/filter bands per MIX dsp. FilterBank runs on any MIX system dsp type (SRAM, DRAM, no RAM). d|24 systems run up to 24 EQ/filter bands per dsp.

    Compatibility

ProControl, Control 24, and HUI compliant; control automation (PT 4.0 or higher); TDM, AudioSuite, and RTAS versions; supports d|24, MIX, HD, and host-based Pro Tools systems
