Pluggo 3.5 Site License (50-99) per seat

Institutional: One end-user per order

Pluggo 3.5 is an extraordinary collection of more than one hundred audio plug-ins. Pluggo works with sequencers and audio applications that support Audio Unit, VST, and RTAS plug-in formats. Version 3.5 is available for Windows XP and Mac OS X. Note: The ability to host VST plug-ins is not available for the RTAS version of pluggo.

There has never been anything close to the selection of plug-ins assembled in pluggo, and with the arrival of pluggo 3, the the gap has gotten even wider. With its range of sound design possibilities, pluggo 3 is more than just a few effects-it's a real-time interactive audio processing, modulation, and synthesis environment that works right inside your favorite audio application. Effects categories include delays, filters, pitch effects, distortion, granulation, spectral effects, modulators, multi-channel effects, synthesizers, audio routing, reverb and dynamics, and visual display. It's easy to see why pluggo has been winning rave reviews from critics and users since its release.

And now there's even more to love: joining the original 74 plug-ins such as the legendary Feedback Network, Tapped Delay, and Swish are over 19 Essential Instruments -- tasty and nourishing instrument plug-ins in a variety of flavors for your RTAS, MAS, or VST application. These elegant and immediately effective instruments were created by eowave, the developers of the iSynth, and make full use of the new and improved award-winning Max4/MSP2 audio programming environment. While space only allows us to tempt you with a few descriptions, you'll find something for every palate, from the characteristically midwestern self-effacement of the Pretty Good Synth, to additive synths, analog-modeling drum and percussion synths, theremins, sampling, granular synthesis, FM synthesis, wavetable synthesis, and some lovely waveshaping for that little sonic something extra. And you can seamlessly combine these exciting new instruments with pluggo effects plug-ins and modulator plug-ins for a world of sonic possibilities you'll never exhaust.

As you look over the tantalizing list of plug-ins at right, you might wonder how all this shameless abundance is possible. The answer lies in the power of Cycling '74's Max/MSP audio processing system and its plug-in development tools. pluggo uses a run-time version of Max/MSP. Since all the plug-ins run within the same environment, they can work together behind the back of your sequencer. For example, the PluggoSync plug-in listens to an audio click track, then tells other plug-ins where the beat is. Then there's our PluggoBus system that lets plug-ins send up to eight channels of audio to each other, exploding the limitation of one or two outputs per plug-in in audio sequencers. pluggo also sports a set of Modulators--plug-ins that mess with the parameters of other plug-ins in cool and unusual ways. And VST and MAS users can even modulate the parameters of VST plug-ins that are not part of pluggo--see our Pluggo VST Host for an example.

We started developing pluggo with a breathtakingly simple yet radical concept: lots of interesting plug-ins for a modest price. We wanted people who would never consider paying hundreds of dollars for a single plug-in to find the pluggo deal impossible to resist. Since Max/MSP allows you to make so much cool audio stuff so quickly, we could prototype an effect in minutes and then ask, "Would we pay a buck or two for this?" The result is that ideas that would been rejected by other plug-in developers have become the stars of the parade. Raindrops? Sine Bank? Phone Filter? Then there's the stuff that is simply unlike anything you've ever plugged in, like Spectral Filter, Feedback Network, Granular-to-Go, and Noyzckippr.

MIDI

pluggo includes MIDI support when used with VST, MAS, and RTAS host applications. pluggo plug-ins can send and receive MIDI information, and Max/MSP developers can now develop their own MIDI processor plug-ins and virtual MIDI instruments. And pluggo 3 includes nineteen new Essential Instruments for your pleasure, as well as M2M, a plug-in that converts MIDI information into modulation data to change the parameters of other plug-ins.

it's time to think sync

pluggo 3 includes support for host synchronization for VST and MAS users. pluggo plug-ins support beat-synchronized parameter changes, sample-accurate tempo sync for a plug-in's modulating LFOs, and tempo-relative settings for plug-in parameters such as delay time. Refer to the table below that illustrates which sequencers support the new features.

Here is table showing support in various sequencers for features in pluggo:

pluggo isn't be limited to the warehouse full of plug-ins we're supplying today. If you want to tweak your own plug-ins, you might want to consider Max/MSP , which includes everything you need to develop your own plug-ins. And the new Pluggo Run-time System allows you to give your own plug-ins to everyone, regardless of whether they own pluggo or not. You might think that we've thought of everything, and that you'd have a hard time imagining other plug-in possibilities. But since anyone who owns Max/MSP can write plug-ins, too, we've created an on-line pluggo user site where you can grab the plug-ins as folks make them available, as well as examples of how plug-ins are made.
If you're going to have all of these plug-ins around, you need a way to deal with them. So we created Plug-in Manager, an easy-to-use application that lets you keeps track of your your plug-ins just as you do for system extensions and control panels with the Mac Extensions Manager.

Plug-in Manager

Plug-in Manager is included free with pluggo, and while it was originally intended for use only with audio plug-ins, you can use it for any application that gets its plug-ins from a specific folder.

See what we mean when we say that pluggo is truly an invitation to endless sonic happiness. Download pluggo and conduct an unlimited exploration of any or all of its plug-ins. You'll notice that the audio output will pause for a few seconds every minute or so. Call and we'll send you pluggo in a groovy box. We understand that some of you may be anxious to purchase the downloadable version right away, but you'll need to install it before we can provide you with the proper authorization.

So, how much will all this shameless abundance cost? $159.95 for new pluggo customers. In discussing pluggo 2 EM speculated, "Who knows, maybe your patch will win next year's Editor's Choice Award." As it turns out, pluggo won the 1999 EM Editor's Choice award. This year, the editors wrote, "We've said it before and we'll say it again: if you are serious about doing hard disk recording on the Macintosh, you must buy this software." Wonder that they'll say about pluggo 3.... pluggo requires a host audio application that supports the VST, MAS, or RTAS plug-in format. Mac OS PowerPC computer running system 8.1 - 9.2. G3 or G4 processor recommended. More details can be found on the download page.

The number of plug-ins that you can use simultaneously depends on the processor, its speed, and your available memory.
