About the Author

Ted Ross was a forty-year veteran of the Music Business and worked as a musician, arranger, orchestra leader, and was the Head of the Engraving and Production Processing Department at Hansen Publications until his untimely death in 1975.

His experience and training includes: The University of North Carolina (Class of '40). . . arranger for the Arthur Murray Radio Show... Studio work at WSB in Atlanta and WOR in New York ... Eight years with Nat Brandwynne's Orchestrain New York at the Waldorf Astoria ... on tour in every major city in the U.S.A.... field trips to Europe ... and 16 years with the Hansen organization.

His experience and expertise in the engraving and preparation of musical manuscripts for printing production was without peer. He was a noted authority on the history and techniques of engraving music and a life-long researcher in the field. He brought to this work his vast professional experience, his authoritative research and his talent as an author and editor. All are woven into this reference library . . .
