SMP Series INTERMEDIATE BLUEGRASS BANJO

This video is designed for the Intermediate to Advanced level player. If you've completed "Beginning Banjo" from SMP or if you can already play a few banjo tunes, then you're ready to take advantage of the many benefits of this video. If you are already taking lessons, this video will supplement and expand your learning between lessons. As before, your own private video teacher is here to patiently guide you each exciting step along the way.

The songs are demonstrated slowly, phrase by phrase, with split screen close-ups so you can see exactly how to play them.

Guitar accompaniment is provided so you can play along.

A music booklet is included with exact transcriptions of fingering techniques in tablature.

After a brief review of timing and tablature, you will begin using every inch of your banjo fingerboard as you develop more of that flashy hard-driving Bluegrass sound. Not only will you learn more songs, but you'll learn corresponding up-the-neck breaks to them as well. You'll learn movable chord formations, minors and 7ths, along with back-up techniques and licks. You'll also learn melodic scales and some more flashing endings.
